A Year Away From Home

Hello lovelies! I have been living away from home for a year this month – which is crazy on so many different levels. I cannot believe it’s been a year but it’s made me into a way better person. This is my A Year Away From Home post which includes everything and anything from the past year!

A Look Back On 2017

Hello lovelies! I cannot believe that 2017 are nearly over, the year has flown by. 2017 has been a year full of new things, the end of somethings, life lessons, achievements and life in general. This is my Look Back On 2017! 2017 was one of the best and worst year of my life so far but you live and you learn!

Project for New Year 2017

January 2017

January was one of the best months of 2017. As they say. start the year off with a bang. I started to online date again which I went on plenty of dates and was so close to giving up on it. One day, I went online on Plenty of Fish and messaged this guy as I seen he was online. I messaged and got an instant reply which I wasn’t expecting. Turns out he was online just to check and wasn’t looking for anyone. I messaged him and we got talking at the end of January. This guy was called James – might sound familiar. We talked non stop for days on end.

I also got on a horse for the first time in years which was amazing. I had to stop horse riding due to being ill and I thought that I would give it a go again. I am so glad I did as it’s something that I thought that I would never do again. It got me straight into the swing of things again.

I did YouTube a good bit for this month but then I stopped.

February 2017

I was still at college at this stage. I did my first presentation which I was so proud of myself for doing as I used to have a really bad stammer and never would’ve gone up to speak in front of an audience. I actually passed the presentation and went on to get a distinction in the whole module that I was doing. I also passed my Business Administration Module too.

Within the two weeks of talking to James, I decided to go up to Donegal to see him. This was the biggest chance that I took, as I never met this guy before and I didn’t know whether he would like me or not. Turns out the connection we had online, was the same as in person which was exciting and weird at the same time. I spent the whole week with him and his family. I met his Mum and Sister straight away which was nerve wrecking but totally worth it. After a week or being together in person, we decided to be boyfriend and girlfriend which was a total shock but a good shock. We decided to go by the first time we talked for our anniversary which is the 31st of January. It was also my first time up in Donegal ever and it was the most beautiful place I seen in my life.

March 2017

March was a month which has changed my life for the better. I went to college for most of March where I passed my next Module with a Distinction which was Customer Service and Bookkeeping Manual and Computerized. I then took a week off to go up to Donegal.

I was up in Donegal which was only supposed to be a weekend but turned out to be three weeks due to the bus strike. We spent the whole three weeks together which was a massive test but it made our relationship better as we were in a Long Distance Relationship. The three weeks together made us get over the Honeymoon Stage and we just got on like a house on fire.

I stopped blogging for a while from this month as I had so much going on with my life but it was worth the stopping as I couldn’t put out content when I really wanted too.

 April 2017

April was one for the books. I decided to stop doing my college course which I was so close to completing and pack up to move to Donegal. Do I have regrets? I have regrets that I never finished the course but I definitely don’t have any regrets moving up to Donegal.

For the month of April ( after Easter ), I lived with James in his family home which was so different to me living at my house. It thought me so much in that month that we were living there. I got to meet a lot of his family which was a massive step in our relationship.

Also took my dog Juno on one of his last big walks with me in our local forest. This was a photo we had to take, just for the laughs and giggles.

May 2017

This was when me and James finally got our own place which was an apartment under the landlords house. This was the first proper time where I moved out of my home house and lived with a partner. It was a test for the first few weeks but we got through it. The bad times in a relationship, definitely makes your relationship stronger.

I also found out that I passed all of the modules that I did in college and only had two modules left and I would’ve got my certificate.. These things happen!

June 2017

I decided to take up blogging again which I am so proud off as people obviously wanted me to give up but it’s something that I’ve always loved doing and nothing could stop me from doing it. I met some amazing people through blogging and not so nice people. This was the month where I got rid of the people who I knew didn’t have my best interests at heart.

In June, we got two more new additions to the family which were two kittens. We got Sox first who was the male and then a week later we got Luna who we got told was a male but turns out she was a female. The two of them came from the same litter and are sister and brother.

July 2017

In change of things, the two kittens was not enough for us. We decided to get a 10 week old Siberian Husky called Dante. We had to get him as he was stunning and was going for pretty cheap as his old owners, just couldn’t handle him!

This was the first weekend that I spent alone in the apartment as James went to Download in Madrid in Spain. It was so weird but it’s something that rung in my head, that the apartment felt like home!

Then a week later, James left me for camping for two weeks and it was the craziest two weeks of my life that I had. The puppy came to us and they told us they wormed him but turns out he had a very bad worm infestation but it was sorted out. I felt like a single mother for the two weeks.

I then joined a website called Fetlife which has changed my life for the better. I have met some amazing people on the site, made some amazing friends and done things that I never thought I would do.

Myself and James had our six month anniversary this month too which is crazy but they say time flies when you’re having fun.

August 2017

August was such a quiet month in general. Nothing really happened other than the normal things that we would be doing.

I went down to Dublin to see all of my family which I hadn’t seen in a while just before my birthday. It was such an amazing trip and I really enjoyed seeing them rather than talking to them on the phone.

It was my 24th Birthday on the 22nd of this month which my first birthday away from home. I think it was the first birthday that I’ve had that didn’t even feel like a birthday so I’m officially an adult.

September 2017

Myself and James went down to Kildare to see my family which he never met before but they all got on so well. It was my sisters 18th Birthday so it was good to see everyone!

I got some amazing PR packages this month which I am in the process of writing up blog posts about for you lot.

Luna the female kitten got neutered!

October 2017

October was the month where I was supposed to be doing Blogtober but I failed so badly at as I just had no time from day to day life. My laptop charger also broke due to the kittens chewing the charger so I was out of a laptop and blogging on my phone was just horrible.

We had a Halloween party at James’ home house which was fun. I may have drank more than I was supposed to but otherwise it was an enjoyable night with some small minor drama but who counts that!?

November 2017

November was the first time where I went to my first Fetish Party in Dublin. It was an enjoyable experience and I cannot wait to go back in the Summer. It was also the first time where myself and James stayed in a hotel together.

I got rid of a toxic person from my life who also blamed others for her problems when in reality she was the person who caused all of the drama in her life.. All I have to say is ” Buh Bye “.

We got an Save The Date invite to James’ friends wedding in Chicago in May which is so exciting and it gives us something to look forward too.

I failed Blog Everyday November but these things happen. I also joined YouTube again and started to upload videos again which is exciting in itself.

December 2017

December has been a quiet but exciting month all the same. We had some amazing snow falls up here in Donegal which has made the temperature drop a lot – I hate the cold. We went to Galway to see Star Wars : The Last Jedi which was amazing – go and see it if you haven’t. I hadn’t been in Galway since I was 12 years old so it was good to see the city again.

I have gone down to Dublin and Kildare to see my family before Christmas and my aunties engagement drinks after Christmas. I also spent Christmas with my boyfriends family which was a whole new experience as it was my first Christmas away from my family but it was amazing.

Life Lessons 2017

Hello lovelies! Keeping with the 2017 theme on the blog, I am here to bring you Life Lessons 2017 that I have learned over the past year. Some of these were hard life lessons and others are just general lessons which both have changed me for the better! Life lessons are something that I realize, you learn every year no matter what age you are.

back-to-school-2707044_960_720

People Come and Go

I’ve said this in blog posts before but this is something that I have learned a lot over the past year. No matter how much you try and hold onto someone, you know that the person is going to leave you no matter what. Letting go of the toxic people in your life makes you feel so much better. If you do regret letting someone in or out of your life, you will soon realize that the perks of doing what you’ve done.

Two Different People Can Have An Amazing Relationship

Myself and my partner are two completely different people and I cannot believe how well we clicked at the start. I’ve gone through 11/12 months of 2017 with him and I cannot wait to see what the next few years hold. This was one of the biggest things I’ve learned as I didn’t think that two people that were so different, could click so much!

Haters Gonna Hate

No matter what you do in life. Haters are going to hate over things so small and things that they think are true. Haters in general are just people that ain’t happy with they’re own lives and they have to belittle others. I’ve learned how to ignore and move on with my life with haters in it. Just remember – once you have haters, you’ve made it!

Adulting is Hard

This year was my first year to move out of my home house. I have never realized how hard being an adult is. I think this is something that everyone goes through during one stage of they’re lives. From paying bills, spending money wisely and even laundry – life doesn’t get easier when you move out.

Have you learned anything in 2017? Let me know in the comments below.

Things You Learn When You Get A Puppy

Hello my lovelies! Me and the boyfriend has had our puppy Dante since the middle of July where he came to us at 10 weeks old. He is now about seven months and still is a puppy. Over the past few months, I have learned a lot about puppies and dogs in general. I am bringing you Things You Learn When You Get A Puppy to open peoples eyes before they get one as it’s not easy but it’s so rewarding at the same time.

22519198_122328378433892_4188549105916055535_n

Chewing

No lie, if you’re not expecting a puppy to chew things, you have another thing coming. They will chew anything from shoes, socks to your hand without a doubt. Chewing is something that puppies do to feel and when they’re teething. Chewing will happen right in front of you and when your gone. You need to puppy proof your house from the obvious things that they can chew – lesson learnt here. We went out and came back and found he was chewing coal : which does no harm.

Costings

Everyone says that the cost of a puppy is expensive and they’re not wrong. You need to factor in the food (we spend €20 a week on food for him), vaccines, worming and flea treatment which is very three months and neutering. Up front with all the vaccines, worming and health checks, I say we’ve spent over €400 on the dog not including buying him. Other costs include trainers, kennels, equipment and even grooming!

Hair Will Get Everywhere

As I have a Husky, they shed twice a year but hair does get everywhere. If your not ready for the hair to get everywhere, you need to get a breed that doesn’t shed. A Dyson Hoover will be your best friend when it comes to dog hair – may be expensive but so worth it. Brushing the puppy will eliminate some amount of hairs.

Accidents Do Happen

No matter how well the puppy is trained, accidents will happen. If you don’t want a puppy to pee or poo all over your house, consider getting an older dog. Puppy pads will also be your best friend and training them from an early age. Our puppy knows to go the door when he needs to go out to use the bathroom and it’s a good system – we didn’t train him but we’re so grateful for his old owners for drilling it into him from a young age.

Growing

A puppy will grow super fast – I do think they grow quicker than babies, to be honest. They won’t stay a puppy forever. Don’t get a puppy because you think it’s cute and may be small – in the likely hood, it will grow way bigger than you expected. Dante has grown so much over the past couple of months and he still has a lot of growing to do. You can tell a puppy’s height by looking at it’s paws – big paws equals big dog and vice versa.

Separation Anxiety

Separation Anxiety is the main thing I’ve learned since getting a puppy and it is a real thing. I have lost days of sleep because my other half has gone away for a few days or even a night. Dante will cry and cry until he comes home by sitting at the door waiting for him. I’ve learnt that we should’ve left him for an hour every day when he was younger so he would get used to being without one of us.

These are all of the things that I have learned since getting Dante and I’m pretty sure there are a lot more of things that I need to learn too while he’s growing up.

Did you ever have a puppy? Did they teach you anything? or do you want to get a pupp?

24 Things I’ve Learned In 24 Years

I am turning 24 years old on the 22nd of this month and with everything else, there are life lessons to be talked about. I did the same post when I was turning 23 years old but I have learnt so much more about life and myself in the past year – which I never thought I would learn. This year has been a world wind of emotions, ups and even downs but they have thought me so much.

birthday-cake-380178_960_720

1. Relationships Changing : Relationships change the whole time whether its romantic, family or even friendships. They all change no matter how hard to try to keep them all the same. Change is good!

2. You Can Say No : I used to be afraid of saying no to people but over the past couple of years, I have realized saying no is actually a good thing. You are more important than the other person asking you the question – you need to think about yourself more.

3. Not Everyone Is Going To Like You : No matter how hard you try and the fact you want people to like you, not everyone will. Everyone has their preference on the type of people they like and it’s not you. The sooner you come to this conclusion, the happier you will be.

4. Go Out Of Your Comfort Zone :  This can mean a whole range of things but getting out of the comfort zone is one of the most important things I’ve learned in the past few years.  If you have a ” type ” of guy you go for, go  for a different type of guy – it might pay off. It has totally paid off for me.

5. It’s Ok To Not Be Ok : No matter how much you’re hurting or sad on the inside, it is ok to not be ok.

6. Live Everyday Like It’s Your Last : I’ve learned that you don’t know whats coming and that you should live everyday like it’s your last, as you will totally regret it if you don’t.

7. Make  Bucket List : Everyone has certain things they want to do before you die etc – a bucket list is something that I have found to be so easy when you grow up. You can keep track of everything and know what you want to do and where to go.

8. Forget The Past : Everyone has a past but some people live by it. If you haven’t forgot the past do because if you live in the past, you will miss the future.

9. Listen To Your Gut :  If something feels bad in your gut, don’t do it because it will most likely be off or bad – something that I have learnt pretty well.

10. Forgive But Never Forget : This is something that I’ve gone by in the past year. You can forgive but you never forget.

11. Music Helps Everything : No matter if you’re feeling down etc – Music will help lift you up.

12. FOMO Is A Real Thing :  Fear of Missing Out is a real thing and it’s something that people do suffer with the whole time… It’s a killer!

13. Sex Isn’t Like What You See In Movies : Most of the time you will need to undress yourself.. Maybe once in a blue moon a guy will undress you!

14. Soaps Are Actually Good : I used to hate the soaps for ages now but now since I’ve grown up, they’re pretty amazing!

15. Parents Are Right Most Of The Time : When your older you realize 94% of the time what your parents have said and done was right and the truth,

16. Make Yourself Happy : I’ve learnt to stop putting everyone’s happiness before mine and it’s a big life lesson. You do need to make yourself happy before you should make others happy.

17. Disney Never Gets Old : Disney is one of the best movie creators of all time. At 23 years old, I have been on a Disney Marathon for the past few weeks.

18. Get Off Social Media : In my younger days, I used to be obsessed with Social Media but that has gone. Everyone needs time away from Social Media and it’s a big lesson that we can’t live in Social Media or else you miss things in real life.

19. Money Doesn’t Make You Happy : Money definitely doesn’t make you happy but the freedom that money bring, does.

20. People Will F**k You Over : No matter how much you think you trust people, they will f**k you over no matter what.

21. Never Stop Learning : You definitely don’t know it all so don’t say you do. Learn as you go and it’ll make your life so much better.

22. You Will Fail : Don’t be afraid to fail as it will happen. Don’t let failure bring you down.

23. Friends and Family Trump Everyone Else : You won’t find anyone better than your friends and family. Don’t let people try and turn you against either.

24. BE YOURSELF.

These are the 24 things that I learned in my 24 years old this planet. Let me know some of the life lessons you have learned in the comments below.
